Safe Haven Program

The K9 Hope Safe Haven program has one goal, help battered women in distress have a safe haven for their dogs. The program works in conjunction with area women's shelters by picking the dog up and provding a secure, safe place for the dog in crisis. When the women and children are in a stable, safe environment, we reunify the dog with their loved ones.

In survey after survey asking why women stayed with their abuser, one of the top reasons given was that they were afraid the dog would be abused. We can offer a the dog a comfortable place to stay so that their family has peace of mind knowing their best friend is being taken care of.
